Sign Designs opened on 1 July 1979 in a small shop in Woodside. We're still family-owned and locally run, and the skills of the trade have passed down through the family to the workshop at City South today.

Old skills, new machines

We started out in industrial engraving. The knowledge of the trade has passed down through the family, and today it works alongside computerised machinery in our own workshop, so we can take a job from one engraved item to a full commercial project.

  • Milling machines

Cut lettering and logos into plates, labels and control panels.

  • Acid etch

Etches artwork into stainless steel and brass for tags, plaques and panels.

  • Laser machines

Mark logos, serials and codes on metal, wood, slate, glass and leather.

We take pride in understanding how something should be made, not simply how to produce it.
